Betty Lou Jones, 86, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 3 at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
She was born July 12, 1919 in Wichita, the daughter of John G. and Ludora Hearte Kille.
She was a charter member of St. David's Episcopal Church and served as the parish secretary from the formation of the church, retiring in 1984.
She married LaRue W. Jones in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include a son, Thomas K. Jones and his wife Patricia L. of Prairie Village, KS; a daughter, Sally L. Ballou and her husband Scott E. of Topeka; four grandchildren, Christopher R. Jones, Grant W. Jones, Hannah F. Ballou and Reese A. Ballou.
Mrs. Jones will lie in state after 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 7 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, May 8 at St. David's Episcopal Church with burial to follow in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
