Betty K. Berggren

Betty K. Berggren, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at her home. She was born on May 19, 1919 in Topeka, the daughter of Glenn and Annie E. Jacques Morehead. She lived most of her life in Topeka. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of Crestview United Methodist Church. She was the secretary / treasurer for B.N. Berggren Contractor Inc. during her working years. Betty married Bennett N. Berggren on May 21, 1944 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Calvin B. Berggren and wife, Susan, of Olathe, Allen C. Berggren of Golden, CO, and Cheryl A. Schuster and husband, Mike, of Omaha, NE, four grandchildren, Megan Schuster, Kevin Schuster, Andrew Berggren and Rachel Berggren, and two brothers, Glenn Morehead and Fred Morehead of Topeka. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Crestview United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Crestview United Methodist Church, 2245 S.W.
