Betty Jean Forrester Brim, 89, Topeka, formerly of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013. She was born on April 10, 1923 in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Clarence Ray and Hazel Marie (Price) Forrester.
Betty graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1941. She attended Kansas State Teacher's College in Pittsburg. On December 7, 1943 she married her high school sweetheart, Aubrey M. Brim at the Methodist Church in Pittsburg and began her life as a devoted military wife and mother. She actively participated with her husband in the Arab Shrine Temple. She enjoyed playing bridge, baking, sewing and fishing with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband, a daughter, Susan (Bill) Morris, Canadian, TX; a son, Mitchell (Shelee) Brim of Shawnee, KS; three grandchildren, Amie (Nicholas) Thomas, Canadian, TX; Kourtney (Stephen) Martin, Jacksonville, NC; Colby Brim, Shawnee, KS; four great grandchildren, Sterling, Scarlett and Stella Thomas and Mitchell Martin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Melvin Forrester.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
