Betty J. Elliott, 78, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010.
She was born January 26, 1932 in Strong City, KS. Betty was married to Jack L. Elliott on June 18, 1949. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frankie Richardson and a brother, Albert Richardson, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Jack L. Elliott; daughters, Cheryl Gilmore, Judy (Richard) Harmon, and Denise (Steve) Wodtke; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Grubb, Matt (Heather) Harmon, Jackie Wodtke, Brad Harmon, and Travis Wodtke; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Beverly Sanders, Norma Livingston, Harold (Betty) Richardson, Ed (Sharon) Richardson, Clifford (Pat) Richardson, Leon Richardson, Robert (Jeannie) Richardson, and Dorothy (Mike) McMullen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka 66604. Private Interment will take place at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Betty will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel; family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Museum of the Kansas National Guard, P.O. Box 19285, Topeka, KS 66619-0285.
