Betty I. Bracken, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on September 25, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of Rex and Thelma Lannigan Relihan. She was a life-long Topeka resident. She attended Topeka High School. She retired as a Vice-President/Branch Manger of the Boulevard Branch of Capitol Federal Savings in 1993. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Betty married Earl S. Bracken on January 26, 1946 in Miami, OK. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a son, Clyde A. Bracken on November 18, 2006 and one sister, Kathlyn (Katie) Weakly. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Feirick and husband, Dave of Niles, MI, Jan Heinz and husband, Fred of Topeka, eight grandchildren, Bob Feirick, John (Pam) Feirick, Tom (Anne) Feirick, Dan Heinz, Kristin Heinz, Sharon Walker, Connie (Don) Child and Stacey Bracken, twelve great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marjorie Hisel of Texas, Bonnie Roman of Topeka, and one brother, R. Garth Relihan of Topeka, one brother-in-law, Joe Weakly of Topeka, one daugher-in-law, Marilyn Bracken of Topeka and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Friday evening.
