Betty Elaine Heitzman Weber

Betty Elaine Heitzman Weber, 82, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at her home. She was born on April 18, 1927 in Emery, SD, the daughter of Harry and Lena E. Weeldreyer Heitzman. She graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD. She had resided in Topeka since November of 1958.

She was employed by the Menninger Foundation and Security Benefit Life. Betty was also a homemaker. She was a member of Community Church since 1958. She was also a two time graduate of the Menninger Bible Class. She was an avid painter and quilter.

Betty married Wayne M. Weber on December 27, 1947 in Emery, SD. He survives. Other survivors include their children; Pamela (Charles) Tipton of Topeka, Ellen (Ron) Newlin of Emporia, Michael Weber of Kansas City, MO, Mark (Dede) Weber of Topeka; twelve grandchildren, David Tipton, Elizabeth Ferstl, Jonathan Tipton, Barnabas Newlin, Hannah Newlin, Peter Newlin, Philip Newlin, Lacey Weber, Lindsay Rowley, Tamara Weber, Andrew Weber, Apryl Weber; seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Delores Balandis of Penn Valley, CA. Betty was preceded in death by one son, Grant Weber in 1985 and one brother, Harry Heitzman.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Community Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or to Community Church, 1819 SW 21st St., Topeka, KS 66604.
