Betty D. Commons passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Lawrence, Kansas.
She was the daughter of John Quincy and Edna (Elliot) Asher. She was born and raised in Topeka and attended Quincy, Curtis and Topeka High.
She married LT. Warren Commons on October 26, 1967. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1982. Survivors include son, Jerry Boyd and his wife Phyllis; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was a credit manager for 21 years at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of the Shrine Auxiliary, American Legion and formally The Moose Lodge.
A Funeral Ceremony will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
