Betty Cogswell

Betty L. Cogswell, 91, Topeka died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 at a local nursing facility. She was born Apr. 2, 1913 in Jersey City, NJ. She graduated from Seaman High School. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Meriden Chapter #399 of Order of Eastern Star and a past District Aide. Betty was employed by the Federal Government in accounting and procurement for 25 years at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka. She married Kenneth M. Cogswell Feb. 3, 1934 in Liberty, MO he died March 11, 1995. She is survived by two sons Robert D. Cogswell and his wife Donna, Topeka; Karl M. Cogswell, Reno, NV; one daughter Evelyn M. Raab and her husband Eugene, Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wed. Jan. 26, 2005 at Northland Christian Church. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Cogswell will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
