Betty Burgett

Betty Marie Burgett, 80, of Topeka, passed away Monday, September 29, 2008.
She was born October 4, 1927 in Green, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Chaffee) Wachsnicht.

Mrs. Burgett was employed by the State of Kansas for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Northland Christian Church, Topeka.

Betty married Kenneth M. Burgett on March 18, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2000. Survivors include two sons, Ray Burgett (Andrea) and Michael Burgett (Brenda), both of Topeka; five grandchildren, Bobbi Jo, Caleb, Brian, Brooke, and Erica and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Burgett will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m.. Memorial contributions may be made to Northland Christian Church, 3102 NW Topeka Blvd, Topeka 66617.
