Betty Louise Bond

Betty Louise (Kramer) Bond, 95, of Topeka, passed away on October 27, 2023 at Midland Hospice House. She was born on June 15, 1928, to John Phillip and Myra Elizabeth (Redmond) Kramer in Scranton KS. Betty attended Overbrook Rural High School, and in 1945 she married Claude Bond in Topeka KS where they would go on to raise their family.

Betty is survived by her children: Shirley Tibbits, Robert Bond, and Mary Bonham, all of Topeka KS; three grandchildren: Samual Bonham (Jennifer) of Topeka KS, Justin Bond of Mission KS, and Sara (Michael) Ray of Olathe KS; and three great-grandchildren: Cadence and Cheyenne Bonham, and Ethan Ray.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bond in 1989; her parents and brother, John "Jack" Kramer; also sons-in-law Derrald Tibbits and Jay Bonham.

Betty was a woodcarving enthusiast specializing in relief carving. She and her husband owned and operated Betty's Woodcrafts for 12 years, they were members of the Mid-America Craft Association and the Kaw Valley Woodcarvers Association. Betty will always be remembered for her cooking, particularly her homemade ice cream and angel food cake (which couldn't be beaten).

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Topeka Baptist Church, 4500 SW Gage Ave.

Committal will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023, immediately following the service at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to Midland Care or Topeka Baptist Church, where she was a charter member.
