Bertha Mcfarland

Bertha Schwemmer McFarland, age 96, passed away on August 20, 2002 at Riverview Care Center, Boerne, Texas. She was born on October 17, 1905, in Enterprise, Kansas to David and Anna Schwemmer. Being the fifth of eight children, she was the last to depart from this earth.

She was married to Samuel Clifford McFarland for 51 years, who preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by one daughter, Delores Bulmer and her husband, Everett, of Boerne, Texas; Six Grandchildren; Twelve Great Grandchildren; One Great Great Granddaughter.

She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eagles of Topeka, Kansas and also a member of the Highland Park Methodist Church of Topeka.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 21, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Vaughan's Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was held at Vaughan's Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22, at 11:00 A.M., with Dr. David B. Vaughan, Officiating. Graveside Services and burial will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel of Topeka is in charge of graveside services. The family requests, Memorials may be made to the Rainbow Senior Center, PO Box 1039, Boerne, TX 78006.
