Bertha Louise Drescher, 91, died in Topeka on October 28, 2008. She was born in Ottawa, Kansas on October 9, 1917 to Will and Dora Cummins and soon moved with her family to Topeka. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1935 and has been a long standing member of Lowman United Methodist Church.
Throughout her adult lifetime, she provided a loving home for her family and warm hospitality to all relatives and guests. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 70 years, Theodore "Ted" William Drescher, of Topeka, her daughter, Bonnie (Larry) Campbell, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; her son Don (Ellie), of Olathe, Kansas; her grandson, Theodore "Tad" William Drescher II (Jen), of Tempe, Arizona; her granddaughter, Amanda, also of Olathe; her sister in law, Marian Myers and the families of four Topeka nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Clarence Cummins and sisters, Jennie Fay McDonald and Helen Walstrom and her niece LeeAnn Myers.
She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Lowman United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Fund @ Aldersgate Village, 7220 S.W. Asbury Dr., Topeka, KS 66614.
