Bernie M. Finney, 86, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006.
Bernie was born March 27, 1919 in Douglas County, KS, daughter of John B. and Dora Haferbier Maness.
She graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School in 1937.
Bernie was united in marriage to Howard A. Finney in Lawrence, KS in 1942; he preceded her in death in 1996.
Bernie worked for Lawrence National Bank in Lawrence, KS. She later retired in 1980 as an Assistant Cashier from Merchants National Bank after many years of service.
Survivors include nieces and nephews: Donna Linton, Topeka, KS; Bill L. Maness, Boston, MA; Larry Maness, Summerville, MA; and Pat Anderson, Lawrence, KS. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold L. Maness and Melvin C. Maness.
A private memorial service for Mrs. Finney will be held. Entombment will be at Mt. Hope Mausoleum. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be sent to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, Kansas 66617.
