Bernice P. Coe, 80, of Topeka passed away Thursday, May 18 2006 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born May 10, 1926 in La Harp, KS, the daughter of James L. and Bessie B. Maley Hicks.
She was a loving and devoted mother, wife , grandmother, daughter and sister. After her children were grown she went to work as a dietician in the health care industry, retiring in the late 1980's.
She married Milburn R. Coe on May 10, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death in October, 1995. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter, one sister, one brother, five grandchildren and one great grandson.
Mrs. Coe will lie in state after 2:00 pm today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am, Tuesday, May 23 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.
