Bernard Bentley Ravins, 82, of Topeka, died December 3, 2014.
He was born on August 9, 1932 in Salina, KS the son of Thomas and Fannie (Bentley) Ravins. He attended Hayden High and Topeka High Schools.
He served three years in the Army with two tours of duty in the Korean War as well as 8 years in the Kansas National Guard.
He married his next door neighbor, Carol Philipp in 1956.
He retired after 31 years as a Sales Manager for Adamation, Inc. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1 and a lifetime member of VFW Post 1650. He was also a member for many years of NACUFS, the National Association of College and University Food Services and the National Restaurant Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carol Carver and brother, Tom Ravins.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Topeka; son, Brian Jay Ravins and wife Pam of Valrico, FL; three daughters, Renee Lindsey and husband Jim of Lees Summit, MO, Tracy Wagner and husband Jim of Topeka and Beth Ravins of Lees Summit, MO; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 8 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Topeka.
