Bernadene M. Fuqua

Bernadene M. Fuqua, 93, Topeka, passed away Sept. 28, 2012. She was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Junction City, KS, the daughter of Edward and Ella Knopp Biegert. She was a 1937 graduate of Junction City High School and had worked for St. Francis Hospital and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Bernadene was a member of Northland Christian Church in Topeka and Eastern Star in Wakarusa.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Cleo Fuqua and Ivan Huhs; daughter, Judy Griggs; son, Ronald Huhs; and seven siblings. Survivors include daughters, Dianne Musso and Eileen Boyd, both of Topeka; five step-children; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Bernadene will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St. # 100, Topeka, KS 66614.
