Benjamin Haury

Ben Haury,19, of Topeka, passed away February 21, 2005.

Ben was born May 19, 1985, in Newton, Kansas, the son of David and Rose Wiebe Haury. Ben attended McClure Elementary, French Middle School, and was a 2003 graduate of Topeka West High School.Ben was currently a sophomore at Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas.

While at Topeka West Ben participated in band, jazz band, tennis, and Scholar's Bowl. He was a National Merit Semi-Finalist. At Hesston he was studying Computer Science and Biology.

Ben especially enjoyed the outdoors. He liked hiking, fishing and camping.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his parents, David and Rose Haury, Harrisburg, PA; his sister, Emily Haury, Goshen, IN; his grandmothers, Ada Mae Haury, Newton, KS; Rubena Wiebe, Hillsboro, KS; his aunts, uncles, and fifteen cousins.

(His aunts and uncles, Margaret Wiebe, Hesston, KS; Hank and Lynn Wiebe, Hillsboro, KS; Rachel and Mike Easter, Hesston, KS; Kathy and Duane Loewen, Newton, KS; John and Carolyn Haury, Dearborn, MI; and Kakim and Karla Kunantaev, Hillsboro, KS; and fifteen cousins.)

There will be a time for viewing and visiting with the family from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Southern Hills Mennonite Church, 511 E. 37th Street, Topeka. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, KS. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Southern Hills Mennonite Church, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be given to the Mennonite Central Committee, Box 235, North Newton, KS 67117 or to Hesston College, Box 3000, Hesston, KS 67062.
