Barbara Mccummins
Barbara C. McCummins, 67, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10 after a long illness.
She was born June 26, 1939 in Topeka, the daughter of Henry and Violet Price Leonhardt.
She attended Hayden High School before moving to Dover, DE. She and her family returned to Topeka in 1962. She worked various jobs, retiring from Jostens Yearbook Co., in the early 90's. She was an avid Bingo player and was a member of St. Joseph and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches.
She married Leo J. McCummins on October 31, 1955 in Topeka. They later divorced. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra Ann McCummins in 1956 and by one brother, Clarence Haas.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Longstaff and husband Steve, Debra Bean and husband Terry and Barbara L. McCummins, all of Topeka; five grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Haas, Sequim, WA and Ronnie Haas, Knob Noster, MO and one sister, Donna Canfield, Hightsville, MD.
Cremation is planned. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am,Thursday, Sept. 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with private family inurnment to follow.
