Barbara Jean Maloney, 89, of Topeka, died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Midland Hospice House.
Barbara was born on August 9, 1924 to Floyd and Gertrude (Bowman) Rigby in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Topeka High School and worked for many years as a secretary for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She was married to James Maloney on November 14, 1942; he survives of the home.
She is also survived by one niece, Mindy (Rusty) Walker of New Orleans, LA; one nephew, John (Sherry) Maloney, Jr. of New Bern, NC; a sister-in-law, Lyda Maloney of New Bern, NC; and a cousin, Jacquie (Bill) Patterson of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, John Maloney.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 26 at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
