Barbara Knight

Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Knight, 81, Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2005 at Midland Hospice House.

Bobbie was born September 8, 1923 in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Claude R. and Emma Veta Rockwell Currence.

She was a homemaker as well as having partime work at Capital Federal, Royal Typewriter and Sweda Cash Register. She has been a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Highland Park Opti-Mrs. Club, the American Legion Post #1 Auxilary and the Highland Park High School Alumni Association.

Bobbie married Robert (Bob) R. Knight on January 27, 1942 in Oskaloosa, Kansas. He died August 28, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters: Sharon Ann Shehi and Sandra Kay Squires and her husband Steve of Topeka; four grandchildren, Chris Shehi and wife Mayumi, Olathe, Jim Shehi, Kansas City, MO, Steven Shehi and wife Sara, Topeka, and Amy Gray, Kansas City, MO; two step grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother Bill Currence and his wife Mildred, Topeka, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday at Highland Park United Methodist Church Chapel.
