Barbara Kellner

Barbara Jean Kellner, 72, of Silver Lake, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

She was born November 24, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Vance and Pauline (Schlegel) Welter. She graduated from Perry Rural High School. She continued her education at Kansas State University graduating with her Bachelor's Degree in 1972 and was a proud member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.

Barbara worked for the Soil Conservation Service before having children. Once her children were of school age, she continued her working career as a paraprofessional at Silver Lake Elementary School.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her greatest enjoyment was raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren.

Barbara cherished her time at their home hosting family and friends at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Barbara married Wayne A. Kellner on June 4, 1977 in Topeka at Christ Lutheran Church, he survives. Other survivors include her children, Jared (Patty) Kellner, Justin (Ashley) Kellner, Sarah (Clint) Pentz and Jason (Megan) Kellner; grandchildren, Vance Kellner, Logan Kellner, Jackson Kellner, Chloe Pentz, Claire Pentz, Hayes Kellner and Carter Pentz and her sister, Linda (Jerry) Piwarski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Pauline Welter.

The family will greet friends and family during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Rd., Topeka, KS.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Christ Lutheran Church.
