Barbara Joan Rolley Scott

Barbara Joan Rolley Scott, 78, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. She was born on October 13, 1929 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Paul and Marian Cox Rolley. She attended Topeka High School, Stephens College and received a bachelors degree from the University of Missouri. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, the American Association of University Women and the First Congregational Church. Survivors include her children, Susan Jones of Lakin, KS, Cynthia Anderson and husband, Mark of Monument, CO, Walter "Sam" Scott of Broken Arrow, OK, Carol Steves of Auburn, KS, ten grandchildren, Rolley Wambsganss Jones, Casey Wambsganss Jones, Christopher Jones, Spencer Jones, Emily Anderson, Abigail Joan Anderson, Evan Anderson, Walter Scott, IV, Robert Scott, and Sarah Steves. Joan was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Rolley. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum. Joan will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Meals on Wheels, 1500 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604 or to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W.
