Barbara Jo Workman

Barbara Jo Workman, 58, of Topeka, died Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Midland Hospice House in
Topeka. She was born September 27, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Carl Joseph and Frankie Greer Workman. She spent many of her early years in St. Louis prior to moving to Topeka in December of 1984. Barbara touched many people's lives. She was a genuine "character" in the best sense of the word. Anyone who came in contact with her knew she enjoyed life and expected the best. Barbara is survived by her mother, Frankie Workman, an uncle and aunt and several cousins all from the St. Louis area. Another cousin, Carolyn Tortorici, lives in Washington, D.C. Her father, Carl Workman and a brother, Carl Wayne Workman preceded her in death. Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin Funeral Home in St. Louis, MO. The family will receive friends after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to services. Burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka.
