Barbara Jean 'Josie' Wiedwald, 79, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006.
Josie was born in Topeka on November 4, 1926 to Charles Ralph Sleeper and Nina 'Bliss' Sleeper.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1945. Josie married Roy Wiedwald on April 26, 1946. They were married for 60 years.
Josie retired as office manager from a local real estate company. She loved playing bridge, gardening, sewing and her family.
Josie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Roy, Topeka: daughter, Chery Johnson and her husband, Tom, Berryton; son Tod Wiedwald, Topeka; son Lance Wiedwald and his wife, Cindy, Meriden; eight grandchildren, two grandchildren; brother Jerry Sleeper and his wife Jacquie, La Costa, CA; sister-in-law, Glenda Sleeper, Topeka. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Sleeper.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 1 at 10:00am at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery, 6th & Gage, Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Cr., Topeka, 66606.
