Barbara Buzick

Barbara L. Buzick, 55, passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 in Topeka, Kansas.

She was born January 7, 1952, the daughter of Philip E. Buzick and Joy M. Buzick Johnson. They both preceded her in death.

Barb left many friends who will remember her passion for politics, the arts, animals, gardening, and cooking. She had a wonderful sense of humor and hope for the future. Barb was loving and generous with her family of friends who celebrate the peaceful end to her life.

Barb attended Boswell Jr. High School and graduated from Topeka West High School in 1970; she attended colleges in Denver and Durango, Colorado and graduated with a degree in history. Topeka was her home for most of her life, and she held jobs with the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library in Fine Arts, the Menninger Foundation, and Stanley Flowers. She was a lifelong member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, and her faith was a joyful part of her life.
Barbara was the mother to four cats, Tiger, Gracie, Punkin, and Cappie, and to her dog, Hank. She leaves behind a surrogate nephew and three nieces who loved their "Aunt" Barbara. To them, she remained ever involved and supportive. Barb always watched the weather; for her, we hope for fair skies and soft clouds.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of the Resurrection Columbarium at Grace Episcopal Cathedral at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the CAT Association of Topeka or to Let's Help.
