80, Topeka, passed away January 3, 2004 at Midland Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Topeka September 30, 1923 the daughter of Floyd and Charlotte Bartels. She attended Highland Park Schools and graduated in 1941. Barbara went to business school and became a bookkeeper. She worked for Karlan's, Longbell, Whelan's and Rinner Construction Company. Barbara loved to paint, golf, camp, shop, and the RV lifestyle. She is of the Methodist faith.

Barbara married Paul C. Foster June 7, 1942, he survives.

Two Granddaughters: Sally Schmidt and husband Scott Saukville, Wisc.

Abbie Kinney and husband David North Richland Hills, TX

Grandson: Theo Foster Plano, TX

Great Grandson: Max Kinney North Richland Hills, TX


Funeral services will be held at Mount Hope Garden Chapel Mausoleum at 10:30 a,m, Wednesday, January 7, 2004. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Abbey.
Mrs. Foster will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from noon Tuesday until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday and a visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606. On-line condolences may be made at www.penwellgabel.com.
