AXEL R. LARDIE age, 89, died, April 21, 2007.
Mr. Lardie was employed by Kansas Department of Human Resources
from 1949 until he retired in 1981.
He was born in Traverse City, Michigan Dec.5,1917, the son of F. Roy and Florence W. Lardie. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He has lived in Topeka since 1945.
Mr. Lardie was a Past Commander and life member of Philip Billard Post #1650 Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Past Seam Squirrel and life member of Pup Tent No. 3 Military Order of the Cooties, life member of Disabled American Veterans, member of Post 400 American Legion, Golden Rule Lodge 90 AF&AM, Arab Shrine, and Moose Lodge Topeka.
He married Nadine Johnson in Topeka in 1945. She preceded him in death. He married Helen Schaller in 1982. She also preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter Janis Kay Marsh and her husband Christopher, San Antonio, TX; his companion Mary Jane Tucker, Grantville, KS; two nephews and their families in Michigan.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held 9:00am, Thursday, April 26, 2007
at Penwell-Gable Mid-Town Chapel with inurnment in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Philip Billard Post #1650 V.F.W., Topeka, KS or to Grantville United Methodist Church, Grantville, KS.
