Ashley Dawn Connor, 20, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at KU Medical Center. She was born on August 21, 1992, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Tami Connor.
Ashley was a junior at Topeka High School. She attended Civitan Camp as well as Capper Foundation camps and clubs. She participated in Mid America Games for the Disabled and was a past member of the Girl Scouts. Ashley was the recipient of the Assistive Technology Award in 2011.
Ashley is survived by her mother, sisters, Abby, Sara and brother, Kyle all of Topeka; grandparents, Pat & Margie Connor of Fort Myers, FL; one uncle and several cousins. She is also survived by her special nurses, Nancy Garner and Maggie Clements.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 4 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Ashley will lie in state on Monday with visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm all at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, family requests balloons.
