Arthur M. Koob, 67, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on November 4, 1938 in Wichita, the son of Albert A. and Florence M. White Koob.
After attending high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps. After his discharge from the Marines, he began a career in retail sales for several companies and was currently employed by Payless Shoes for the past thirteen years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and major league baseball. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He married Mildred Leiker on October 28, 1961 in Wichita. They later divorced. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Chase.
Survivors include a daughter, Shonda L. Koob of Wichita; a son, Steven A. Koob and his wife Kristen of Topeka; three brothers, Albert Koob of Wichita, Michael and James Koob of Derby; four sisters, Mary Underhill, Maize, Martha Gehrer, Derby, Sherry Gibbs, Wichita, and Monica Kelly, Wichita and six grandchildren.
Mr. Koob was cremated. A memorial service will be held in Wichita at St. Anne Catholic Church.
