Arthur E. Carlgren, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at a local hospital.
He was born on January 12, 1940 in Concordia, KS to Carrol Carlgren and Gladys (Axelton) Carlgren. He graduated from Concordia High School.
Arthur married Charlotte A. Hoelscher on May 1, 1960 in Concordia. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2009.
He enjoyed the many years that he spent working for Rosco Concrete Pipe and Hamm Quarry.
Arthur enjoyed gardening, and was known to be a collector of many and all things. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially when he was able to attend his grandchildren's sporting events. He will be remembered as a very generous, kind hearted, gentle, and loving man.
He is survived by a son, Kevin E. Carlgren and wife, Mariah, of Topeka; grandchildren, Cooper, Chloe and Josie; and siblings, Doris Carlgren, Carl Carlgren, and David (Sharon) Carlgren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte Carlgren; and a daughter, Kimberly A. Carlgren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
