Arthur Chriss "Slick" Reece, 71, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013.
Art was born June 17, 1941 in Oakland, CA, the son of Kenneth G. Boyke and Lillian E. Reece. He graduated from Berryton High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Army until 1963.
He was employed at DuPont Cellophane for 17 years and worked part time for J.D. Reece Roofing & Guttering.
Art married Marilyn K. Miller on December 7, 1963 in Topeka. They later divorced. Survivors include their children, Barbara Allen, Arthur Reece, Kenneth Reece, Tammy Miller, Martha Reece, all of Topeka, Chad Russell, of Raytown, MO; 28 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Reece; his parents; and brother, Wilmer Dean Reece.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24. 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Art will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Private family inurnment will be in Foster Cemetery at a later date.
