Arthella Flesher, 91, recently of Wichita and formerly of Brewster Place in Topeka, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, August 30, 2010.
Mrs. Flesher was born June 21, 1919 in Jacobs Creek, PA, the daughter of Dewey and Mildred Fretts Hough. She was a proud 1938 graduate of Greensburg Business College, Greensburg, PA.
She worked as a legal secretary in the office of Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds and Palmer until her retirement in 1981.
Arthella married Roy H. Flesher May 2, 1939 in Scottdale, PA. He preceded her in death August 17, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wendall Hough, Jacob Hough and Lewis Hough; and by her daugther-in-law, Luisa Flesher.
Survivors include three sons, Jack D. Flesher, Wichita, KS; Jerome "Jerry" A. Flesher , Colorado Springs, CO; Donald "Don" J. Flesher, Woodland Park, CO; daughters-in-law Kathy Flesher and Nanci Flesher; three sisters, Garnet May, North Tonawanda, N.Y.; Ardith Collins, Scottdale, PA; Arlene Oberding, Topeka, KS; one brother, Gerald "Jerry" Hough, Walnut Creek, CA; and by her beloved nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Arthella will be privately laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery.
