Arol Dean McQueen, 77, Lee's Summit, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at Jefferson Health Care, Lee's Summit, Mo.
Mr. McQueen was born April 23, 1929, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Floyd and Florence Copeland McQueen. Mr. McQueen graduated from Topeka High School in 1947 and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Washburn University. He worked for several years at Sheahan and Degan, Inc., and was the office manager at the former Kent-Brown Chevrolet until moving to the Kansas City area in the late 1970s. He retired as the office manager at Royal Chrysler in Harrisonville, Mo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Washburn University Alumni Association.
Survivors include a son, David McQueen, Lee's Summit; a daughter, Marti McQueen Brentnall, San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Marilyn Hawley, Topeka; three grandchildren, Bryn and Ben Brentnall and Kathryn McQueen; two cousins, Betty Howbert, Topeka, and Ronnie McQueen, Topeka; a niece and two nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Midtown Chapel, Topeka; Burial at Mount Hope Cemetery. A visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests donations to the Washburn University Alumni Association and the Topeka High School Historical Society.
