Arline Nadine Mahoney, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Lexington Park Nursing Facility. She was born on November 16, 1924 in Topeka, Kansas to Daniel and Ida May (Williamson) Mahoney.
Arline graduated from Topeka High School in 1942. She worked in the general offices for Santa Fe Railway for 32 years and retired on October 31, 1984.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Santa Fe Old Timers Club.
Arline loved horseback riding and for several years traveled to many dude ranches in Colorado and Arizona with her good friends.
She is survived by three nieces, Gayle Gillespie, Janet K. Halladay and Lori McNeal; two nephews, Eric Nelson and Todd Nelson and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Ruth Fowler, Melba Banion, Paul Centlivre and Colin Hall.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Evelyn Gillespie and Lois Nelson. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 3 at the Mount Hope Cemetery. No visitation is planned and the casket will remain closed for the service.
