Arlene E. Hager, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in Topeka.
Arlene was born November 15, 1929, in Macon, NE, to John and Mary (Folkers) Fritson. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1947 and Nebraska Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. Arlene married Larry Hager on October 24, 1954, in Macon, NE. She was a register nurse for Stormont-Vail Hospital from 1974 to 1986. Arlene was a dedicated member of Countryside United Methodist Church. She enjoyed family camping in Colorado, was a skilled seamstress and made the worlds best apple pie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Val Jean Mae Fritson and Carolyn Meester.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband; two daughters, Rhonda (Mark) Simpson, Topeka, KS and Connie (Andy) Huyett, Pittsburg, KS; two sons, James (Carol) Hager, Carbondale, KS and Michael Hager, Topeka, KS; sister, Lois Robinett, Casa Grande, AZ; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Road. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Arlene will lie in state at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and the family will greet friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave.
