Arlene M. Blaker, 73, of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born January 25, 1934 in Wabaunsee County, Kansas the daughter of Conrad and Carrie Heine Soelter. Arlene was a 1952 graduate of Alma High School.
Mrs. Blaker retired after 30 years from American Home Life Insurance Company. She served as a school bus paraprofessional with USD 345 for seven years. She is a member of Countryside Christian Church.
Arlene married Don Blaker June 21, 1958 in Alma, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include her son, Bradley Blaker and his wife Deborah, Berryton, KS; her brother, Harold Soelter, Paxico, KS; one grandchild, Jamie Grittman, and her mother-in-law, Mildred Blaker, Emmett, KS.
Funeral services will be held 9:00am Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Mrs. Blaker will lie in state after 12:00 noon Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m..
