Ardith I. Tharp, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on January 17, 1917 in Marionville, Missouri, the daughter of William A. and Nona Pendleton Stogsdill. She resided in Missouri, Wichita and Emporia until moving to Topeka in 1956. She was co-owner of A&B Bumper Supply. She was a member of Northland Christian Church, a former member of the Alley Cats and Working Sams Camping Club. She married William Henry Tharp in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Hoodless of Palm Springs, California, Judy Heaton of Tampa, Florida, Linda Tharp of Topeka, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren , one great-great grandchild and one sister, Mildred Bolman of Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Tharp will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
