Araminta Morlan, 88, of Topeka, faded into her eternal sleep on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
Araminta was born February 10, 1925, in Greeley, KS, daughter of John and Emma (Thomas) Farren. She married Verne W. Morlan, Jr., on January 22, 1944, in Little Rock, AR, right before he was deployed as a medic in WWII.
Araminta retired from Sears as a shipping clerk and cared for her husband for six years before his death on November 19, 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Mary Margaret Farren, Della King, and son-in law, Michael J. Unrein, III.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Bert) Neff, Tecumseh; Janet Unrein, Topeka; Carol (Alan) Kitchen, Queensbury, NY; and a big part of her life was spending time with her four grandchildren, Scot, Lisa, Shawn, and Amy; and six great-grandchildren.
A casual Celebration of Araminta's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, where family and friends can share memories.
Private family interment will be at a later date at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka.
