Anna R. Wartha-DeLeon, 60, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at her home. She was born on July 25, 1952 in Dittwar, Germany to Georg and Maria Wartha.
Anna grew up in Germany, where she went to school and earned her certificate in cosmetology. She met Clifford C. McMillan while he was serving the U.S. Army. They were married for 22 years traveling all over the world before settling on a farm in Chapman, Kansas, where she raised her two children and worked the farm. She became a U.S. citizen in 1984. Her and Clifford owned and operated various businesses in and around Junction City. She was a manager for various companies throughout her life, including Valley View Independent Living, Baby Images, Prairie Inn Restaurant all in Junction City and Aaron's Sales and Leasing in Topeka.
Anna enjoyed being of service to others, floral design, crafting, cooking and being out in nature.
On April 30, 1995 she married Juaquin Garza DeLeon in Junction City. He survives. Other survivors include her children Janine J. (John) Dowers of Burbank, CA; Steward W. (Cassandra) McMillan of Cement, OK; Tony A. (Anna) DeLeon of Topeka; Felicia A. DeLeon of Topeka; Jesus H. DeLeon of Junction City; and Anthony T. DeLeon of Topeka; seven brothers and sisters, Oswald Wartha, Edeltraud Mertin, Maria Schmidt, Reinhold Wartha, Elsa Beck, Agnes Rusch, Claudia Kuelsheimer, 12 grandchildren and special friend Tereza DeLeon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wartha.
Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 30 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd, Topeka, KS 66601.
