Anna "Bobette" Polter, 74, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013.
She was born Evansville, Indiana, January 22, 1939 to Robert C. and Dorothy (Elliott) Richards. After moving from Indiana with her parents and siblings in 1949 Bobette lived in Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, then back to Kansas in 1954. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1957. Subsequently she married in 1958 and later divorced. She is survived by sons, L. David (Carol) Polter, Casper, WY, R. Derrick (Sheila) Polter, and Adam R. (Jenny) Polter, all of Topeka; two grandsons, Hunter and Brody Polter; a brother, Sam (Peggi) Richards, RioVista, CA; two nieces Julie Richards, Istanbul, Turkey, Debra Richards, Stockton, CA; and nephews, Bob (Yvonne) Burns, Merced, CA, and Bill (Angie) Burns, Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judith Richards Burns.
Bobette was retired from the State of Kansas.
Honoring her request, Bobette was cremated. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at McFarland's Restaurant, 4133 SW Gage Center Dr., Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
