Anna Mae Keller, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Lexington Park Skilled Nursing. She was born on October 18, 1930 in Kingman, Kansas to Clarence S. and Minnie (Schwab) Osner.
Anna grew up and graduated from Kingman High School in Kingman, Kansas. After working in Seattle for a short time, she returned to Kingman and married Mike McKenna. After his death, she found a second family through her marriage to Charles Keller with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage. They established homes in St. Louis, Philadelphia, Des Moines, Broken Arrow and Topeka.
Anna is survived by her husband and eight children: Catherine (Boston) Ingraham of Springfield, MO; Gerri Keller of Hatboro, PA; Charles (Sylvie) Keller of Orlando, FL; Catherine (Dave) Walter of Topeka; Joseph (Candy) Keller of Las Vegas, NV; Barbara (Brian) Renz of Oklahoma City, OK; Edward (Jennifer) Keller of Topeka and Marti Keller-Renz of Tulsa, OK; 27 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marge Bugner and Liz Leiker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Joseph McKenna, and a grandson, Christopher Alan Renz. Also preceding Anna in her heavenly journey were her siblings, Mildred Brown, Marie White, Florence Stucky and Chuck Osner.
Anna will be remembered for her strength of character, her generous spirit, and welcoming smile. Her family is grateful for the caring people who supported Anna during her last year of life at Lexington Park.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A rosary will follow at 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
