Anna Mae Denny, 91, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014.
She was born July 31, 1923, in Fostoria, Kansas, the daughter of Johnny and Elizabeth (Mallot) Parker. She was a graduate of Osage City High School.
Anna Mae was employed by the Colmery-O'Neil VA Hospital, retiring in 1983. She was a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital from 1983-2014.
Anna Mae married Clarence "Stub" Denny on November 27, 1954 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1976.
Survivors include daughters, Marianne and Betty Denny; son, Larry Bruner; daughters-in-law, Connie Bruner and Barbara Bruner; grandchildren, Cindy (Jesse), Lori, Julie, Kelly, Nikki, Kristine, Deb, Lisa, Matt, and Mark and Kathy Hershberger; and great-grandchildren, Lanie (Tim), Dalton, Zachary, Christian, Louden, Cameron, Jacob, Micah, and Grace.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pauline Stanwix; sons, David and Mike Bruner; daughter-in-law, Carol Bruner; and sister, Betty Jean Neilson.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Burlingame Cemetery. Mrs. Denny will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission.
