Anna L. Hill
Anna L. "Ann" Hill, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born March 27, 1931 in Topeka, the daughter of John and Marie Kerle Weinkauf, I. She graduated from Topeka High School. Ann was a homemaker and was also employed by Dibbles Grocery for 14 years. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Ann married Russell Hill on September 24, 1948 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Adelaide Greer, LaVerna Lane and John Weinkauf, II.
Survivors include one son, Russell (Colleen) Hill, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA, one daughter, Connie (Rene) Poort of Topeka, five grandchildren, Angela (Doc) Barron, Matthew Hill, Mallory (Justin) Bax, Hannah Poort and Hunter Poort and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Kinley Barron and her two brothers, Robert L. Weinkauf and Gary Weinkauf.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Ann will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Calvary Lutheran Church, 4211 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66617.
