Anabel M. Robinson

Anabel Miriam Robinson, 93, of Topeka, passed away January 18, 2007 at the Midland Hospice House. Anabel was born October 3, 1913 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Susan (Mercer) Boatright. She was named after two aunts, Anna and Belle, and the family physician, Dr. Miriam Swift. Anabel's older brothers, Earl and Vance Boatright, preceded her in death.

Anabel married Alvin E. Robinson on October 15, 1940 in Colby, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1996. They briefly lived in Rexford, Kansas, until he was called to serve in World War II and she moved back to Topeka. During WWII, Anabel worked as a cashier at Parkview Drugstore. Later, she was primarily a homemaker, but she helped out at Hoffman Drugstore during the holidays. Anabel was a charter member of the Topeka Central Church of Christ and a member of the DAR.

Anabel is survived by her son, Gary V. Robinson and his wife, Sharon of Topeka, two grandchildren, Kevin Robinson, Topeka and Renae Borden, Lee's Summit, MO, two great-grandsons, Joshua and Jeremy Borden, Lee's Summit. She always enjoyed her great-grandsons' visits very much.

Mrs. Robinson will lie in state after 11 a.m., Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. that evening. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery & Mausoleum.
