Alyce JoAnn Vorse, 80, of Round Rock, TX, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
Alyce was born on September 30, 1931, in Topeka. Alyce married Robert M. Arthur in 1947, and they had three daughters. After his passing in 1968, she later married John D. Vorse. Alyce worked for American Investors Life for 17 years, and was the first woman to retire from the company in 1996.
She grew up in Topeka and lived there most of her life until moving to Round Rock, TX, with her husband John, in 2006. Once John passed, she moved in with her daughter and granddaughter.
Alyce is survived by her sister, Judy Meyer; three daughters, Sandra Poe; Deanna Williams; and Jill Norvell; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Her family meant everything to her.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Interment will be at a later time at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Odyssey Hospice, 4201 W. Parmer Lane, Suite 100, Building C, Austin, TX 78727.
