Alvin E. Frentzel, 92, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014.
He was born September 8, 1922, in Perryville, Missouri, the son of Alvin and Maude (Byrd) Frentzel. He graduated from Perryville High School in Perryville, Missouri and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Alvin worked for the health department in Springfield, MO and later became a medical salesman in Oklahoma City, OK, Overland Park, KS, Colorado Springs, CO and in 1967 moved to Topeka, retiring in 1985. During retirement he was a book mobile driver and librarian with Topeka Shawnee County Public Library, a position he thoroughly enjoyed from 1986-2006.
Alvin married Audrey M. Bert on August 31, 1947 in Belgique, Missouri. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2007. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Byrd and Robert Frentzel.
Survivors include two sons, John A. and James R. Frentzel.
Memorial services will be 11 am, Wednesday, November 19, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
