Althea Grace Ramseyer

Althea Grace Ramseyer, 92, Topeka, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Plaza West Care Center. Althea was born October 21, 1918 in Hays, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Schmidt) Gilby. She had been employed as a Sales clerk at Macy's. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she participated in the Homebuilders Group and also belonged to the Red Dale Camping Club for several years. Althea married Elmer P. Ramseyer on November 7, 1942. He died March 26, 2006. Survivors include four granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two cousins. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Althea Pearce. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church. Private interment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
