Almira Sloat

ALMIRA M. SLOAT died at Topeka, Kansas on September 7, 2007. She was born November 14, 1921, in Lincoln, Kansas, to August and Maria Buttenhoff. Almira graduated from nursing school in Ellsworth, Kansas, and was a registered nurse employed by Santa FeHospital until her retirement. She married Calvin N. Sloat on December 31, 1956, in Topeka. Almira was a member of HopeLutheranChurch, Topeka, KS, and enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin who died on August 5, 2002 and her sister Myrtice Plinsky. Surviving are her sisters Margaret Bolte, of Salina, KS formerly Lincoln, KS, Ruth Place, Ellsworth, KS, and Joy Weber, Perry, OK, and her brothers Harold Buttenhoff and Paul Buttenhoff, Lincoln, KS. Graveside services will be 11:00am, Monday, September 10, 2007 at St. JohnLutheranCemetery in Lincoln, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to HopeLutheranChurch, 2636 S.E.
