Alice Zapata, 81, of Topeka, formerly of Lawton, OK, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was born December 14, 1932 in Austin, TX.
Alice married Edward Zapata on September 15, 1950 in Austin, TX .
Survivors include 3 children, Christine & Terry Janson; Dodge City, Julie Lyon; Plymouth, MN, and Rose & Jack Bewley; Flower Mound, TX; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren & 1 sibling, Gilbert Garza.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 12pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Austin, TX. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. 1st St., Austin. She will lay in state there from 1-6 pm A private family burial will take place on Saturday at 1pm at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, TX.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church, 1114 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604 Topeka, KS on July 29, 2014 at 10 am.
Memorial contributions in Alice's memory may be made to Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church, 1114 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
