Alice Nelle Cathey, 91, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012.
She was born April 25, 1921 in Meriden, KS, the daughter of Abner Chacey and Nelle Ion (Bates) Bonewitz. She was a graduate of Rural Seaman High School.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Alice married Wyle Young Cathey on December 12, 1944 in North Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2000. Survivors include a sister, Mary Jane Pickett of Missouri; friends, Amy and Jeff Muller of Topeka; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Joy Edwards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the Mass. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
